The eighth biennial Thomas R. Watson Conference in Rhetoric and Composition solicits proposals that examine the working of rhetoric and composition in the era of the globalization and localization of English.

New media technologies have created a participatory popular culture in which audience members can do much more than interpret the movies, television programs, video games, and music produced by large corporations.

The objective of this volume is to gather the voices of teachers/researchers based in Asia to help define what makes the Asian experience unique, and how that experience can help to inform ELT theory, practice, and methodology. The EFL context, including Asia, has tended to be defined by outsiders looking in.
