检测学生写作是写作老师一项不可缺少的工作，但很多研究生专业并不要求学生修检测或评估课，而教授写作的课程常常只花非常有限的时间来讨论检测。另外，老师们经常需要帮助学生准备外来的，强制性的大型测试，因此，他们需要对这些测试的使用或误用有所了解。本文列举了关于课堂及大型检测的重要观点，并就怎样将这些观点融入一门教授写作的课程或是一门独立的检测课程提出了建议。
