JSLW Online: A non-anonymous community for professional interaction
Welcome to JSLW Online! This is a professional community designed to complement the Journal of Second Language Writing by providing an additional space for the discussion of various issues related to second language writing.
What do I gain by joining this community? By registering, you will be able to enjoy many interactive services provided by this community. For example, you will be able to:
- search the entire JSLW website for contents and users
- view and post comments on JSLW article abstracts
- view and post job advertisements related to L2 writing
- participate in the online discussion on various issues in the field
- create your professional profile to promote your own work
- network with other second language writing teachers and researchers
- receive email from other community members without revealing your email address directly (optional)
Who gets to join JSLW Online? Anyone who is genuinly interested in participating in professional conversations on second language writing theory, research and instruction is welcome to join this community. All requests for new accounts, however, must be reviewed by a JSLW Online staff for approval. This process is designed to reduce the risk of inappropriate uses--such as phishing and spamming. To facilitate this process, please provide as much professinal information as you can when you create your account.
Why non-anonymous? This community is non-anonymous by design; the purpose of this site is to provide a space for professional discussion much like journals and conferences do. For this reason, we ask that you use your full professional name as your user name--the name you would normally use for conference presentations and publications.
Why do I need to provide information about my professional profile? Most of the profile information is optional, but by providing information about yourself and your work, you can increase your visibility in the field while creating more opportunities for networking with others who share similar interests.
